Everyone that has unlawfully altered their installations can register for these to be rectified
The continuously present thread in Aqualectra's purpose is to fundamentally contribute to the well-being of our community. With this in mind, Aqualectra has been committed for some time now to enhance the reliability and affordability of its water and electricity. In addition to implementing innovation in the area of sustainable energy, Aqualectra wants to reduce both the loss of income and the additional costs caused by third parties that the community bears. Much loss and additional expenses are caused by third parties who illegally remove or manipulate parts of the distribution network and others who take advantage of these irregularities to avoid fulfilling their obligations as a client. In the meantime, the community bears the costs. Furthermore, illegally changing and manipulating the network means a breach of the reliability of the water and electricity distribution system.
On the 1st of September 2023, Aqualectra will start a new endeavor to combat irregularities in the distribution network. In the first phase of the project, Aqualectra will launch the campaign 'Register today and we will rectify unlawfulness in your installation’, aimed at offering those who illegally use water and electricity the opportunity to correct their situation during the dispensation period. During the dispensation period between the 1st of September 2023 and the 31st of October 2023, persons with irregularities in their installation can apply for corrections of these, without the risk of receiving sanctions or costs related to rectifying the installations. In doing so, everyone that has unlawfully altered their installations, can adjust their current circumstances to a legal situation. This should be done before November 1, 2023, when the heavy sanctions and high fines will start to apply. The dispensation period does not apply to outstanding accounts and debts that the client has. Electricity or water will be shut off during the dispensation period if no arrangements are made to settle outstanding accounts with Aqualectra.
